HAPPY THURSDAY

I felt like this today... thought I'd share, but as always... if not to your taste... skip it!

Today was a frustrating day at work. Let's leave it at that. It was an early release day. I accepted the job of being sort of a babysitter on those days for parents who cannot get after school care. Usually there are only one or two kids at the most. Today I had 13. The volleyball team needed a place to wait for 2 hours. UGH.

It would have been okay except that people forgot that at some point I need to eat. I have not been eating much. You know I'm on this I'm going to lose weight thing. I'm fine as long as I follow my rules carefully for my diabetes. But it is not okay for me to eat and wait 8 hours to eat again. Which is what happened because I could not leave the students unsupervised.

The result for low blood sugar is not a happy thing. I get a blinding headache and become the worst evil being on the planet. Anandazilla! I was ready to stomp villages and kick kids into the sea.

Then I came home and looked at my house. Yuck. So I decided to lay down after a bowl of soup and have a nice little nap. Except that the boy decided that he was hungry and there was no food. He was right. There was no food. Heavy sigh. Off I went to the market for raman noodles. Five for a buck!

By then it was too late... I had become antsy again. So dropped off the food bag and headed for the school to walk again. This time a mystified custodian got to watch me walk in circles. Oh they all know that I do this. It gets a lot of comments. I think he was more mystified that I laugh and have fun when I do it. It's the music. Some of it is funny. And I am happy inside my head. I can create all sorts of stories in there while I gin around and around.

The rest of the day/evening has been just as off kilter. Just one of those days that we all have now and then. Hope yours was better than mine. Here's a weird little video that I ran across. It sucked me in... maybe it will suck you in too. If not, turn it off and run away!

Kiss My Irish Ass

Time to get fired up! I'm ready to go... so come on fuckers! I am in a mood...

Shit Crap Fuck. I think that things are over with Larry. Not my idea, by the way. His

ex-girlfriend called and “wanted to talk”… said she was coming right over. He called me and told me. I said “Ok, so what does that mean?” He replied that he did not know.

Ouch. I will say this. Larry has been very kind, very good to me. He has been honest and upfront. I knew about the ex-girlfriend and that he was really hurt when they split.

I know other things too…

I know that:

That you cannot force anyone to want to be with you, no matter how much you want them. To try and fight that only causes you to feel more pain that you need to feel.

I know that:

That you cannot help how your heart feels. If Larry still loves her, he does. I cannot find it in my heart to be angry over that. I can’t blame him for his feelings.

I know that:

Drama doesn’t help anything.

That was pretty much the just of the conversation. He said he had to talk to her. He asked me not to come over unless he called me. He needed to decide where this was going to go. I have not heard any more from him. My assumption is that this is not good. That I’m a gonner where Larry is concerned.

My hope of course was the opposite! I’ve been happy as a clam for the first time in a very, very long time. I enjoyed everything about our relationship except for the distance between us. I have no complaints at all about him… except that he may be gone now from my life. That of course hurts. I will miss him, his family and darn it all… Buddy.

Well, I am broke so a trip to the bar is pretty much out of the question… or I’d be down there bending my elbow and being around people to keep my mind occupied and fuzzy. I am dedicated to the idea that when upset a good dose of risky behavior helps! Unfortunately the riskiest thing I’ll be doing is cleaning my bathroom and bedroom . It’s not as intoxicating as I’d like. Ha!

Tonight is THE POGUES! Therein lies my salvation. I can toss back a few dark brews, hop, dance, sing and generally go nuts… the things that heal me temporarily. Monday morning I will rue that I was so insane and be tired all day at work. But at least I will have something else to talk about other than how I’ve lost Larry.

I was up at the crack of dawn yesterday. I am a hopper and I do not sleep for long periods of time before I’m back on my feet. I hit the gym and got moving. I know of nothing that works better at keeping me from becoming depressed than being physically exhausted. After that I had coffee with a male friend that I have not talked to in awhile. I’m doing that again this morning after a good hour of swift movement.

I have not eaten much since I last heard from Larry. I can’t continue to do that because of my diabetes. I ate a can of “turtles” (ravioli) right before bed. Now I weigh 5 pounds less, but half of that is water. It will come back if I am not super careful. But weight loss is a good thing for me. As long as I continue, I feel good about some aspect of my life. I don’t’ want to fix what isn’t broken. Not having an appetite will eventually go away again. I better take advantage of it while I can.

A female friend would be concerned at how I am feeling and pinning blame here or there. Picking the situation apart. I don't need that crap.

Men… god love them (like I do)… DON’T. They give me conversation. They don’t poke at the wound. Bless J for that yesterday… and for this morning too in advance. And bless any of you who are sympathetic without being finger pointers. There were no bad guys here. Only my sad heart.

Okay… it’s not The Pogues singing it, but… Kiss My Irish Ass! If you liked that one here is one more that makes me feel fired up as well. Do read the words. I think I've had it on here before... but humor me.

Drunken Lullabies with lyrics

Must it take a life for hateful eyes
To glisten once again
Five hundred years like Gelignite
Have blown us all to hell
What savior rests while on his cross we die
Forgotten freedom burns
Has the Shepard led his lambs astray
to the bigot and the gun

Must it take a life for hateful eyes
To glisten once again
'Cause we find ourselves in the same old mess
Singin' drunken lullabies

I watch and stare as Roisin`s eyes
Turn a darker shade of red
And the bullet with this sniper lie
In their bloody gutless cell
Must we starve on crumbs from long ago
Through bars these men made steel
Is it a great or little thing we fought
Knelt the conscience blessed to kill

Must it take a life for hateful eyes
To glisten once again
'Cause we find ourselves in the same old mess
Singin' drunken lullabies

Ah, but maybe it`s the way you were taught
Or maybe it`s the way we fought
But a smile never grins without tears to begin
For each kiss is a cry we all lost
Though nothing is left to gain
But for the banshee that stole the grave
Cause we find ourselves in the same old mess
Singin' drunken lullabies

I sit in and dwell on faces past
Like memories seem to fade
No colour left but black and white
And soon will all turn grey
But may these shadows rise to walk again
With lessons truly learnt
When the blossom flowers in each our hearts
Shall beat a new found flame

Must it take a life for hateful eyes
To glisten once again
Cause we find ourselves in the same old mess
Singin' drunken lullabies

Flogging Molly - Black Friday Rule

'Tis Friday. I plan on celebrating by playing Flogging Molly all day at work... my LAST day at work until fall. Very cool beans.

A thank you goes out to the great "green bean", Jay who turned me on to several CDs, my Flogging Molly(s) among them. BTW a green bean is something he calls himself... because himself is half Mexican and half Irish. I did not make this up. If it is politically incorrect, blame the green bean! I have two other green beans in my family... Michael and my mini Michael. If this keeps up we'll have a whole can! Tasty fellows.

My boss decided to go evil on me yesterday and gave me the spiffy job of sorting all the "surplus" text books. That means all the books that our school no longer needs because we closed our high school. Yeah... a bazillion of them. I have to sort and catalog them, take an inventory. They are books... I am the book lady. Swell. I am feeling abused. Crap.

I feel all whiny and crabby. Down right pissy if you must know. I should be on cloud nine. . Just stay out of my way for a bit and no one gets hurt. (The spell checker wants me to substitute "pussy" for pissy. I refuse! Good lord!)

On the bright side. True Blood's new season begins on Sunday. I am so looking forward to that! Hope your day is happy.

I DON'T LIKE MONDAYS...

Wow. I really do not want to get up and go to work in the morning. (Monday) I didn't think that I would resist it this much, but I can feel my feet dragging. It's not even morning yet. Rats.

Yesterday I babysat for Bear. That was the plan anyway. She has finals in college this week. So I agreed with very little arm twisting to watch baby Mikey while mommy locked herself in her room to study. Then I was begged to watch the other two grand kids. Well, you can't do for one and not the others... so there I was with three energetic children. They have worn me to a frazzle.

If
you read the sign in the top photo, you see that this is Stratton Gardens. It sits back behind the jail between a dirt parking lot and a fancy restaurant. . I didn't even know it was here for years. The hill it is built on is steep.

I was waiting for a meeting to get over when I got out and walked around. It's the first time I've ever walked thru this little garden. It's lovely, so I thought I'd share it with you.

Too bad you can't smell these, they were so sweetly scented.

Quite often I get restless and bored while waiting for meetings to end, but this time it was pleasant. He was already in the car waiting on me for a change by the time I got done shooting pictures.

I think I'll sit here and read this time. Unless it's raining.

For those of you who stopped by yesterday or sometime today before getting here... my best friend for 37 years is starting to blog.
crazy4coens at Raising Sunny You can stop in and tell her hello. I've bragged about how great you all have been to me.

Well, crap. It's Monday now. I better get some sleep before I start to howl at the moon.

I hate Mondays as a general rule. But maybe you enjoy them. I have attempted to embed "I Don't Like Mondays" by Boomtown Rats. But who knows if funch is cooperating on that tonight. Ha. It sure has had a mind of it's own. If not, here is a link to an earlier version than the one above...enjoy if you wish.

The Boomtown Rats - I Don't Like Mondays: Video

More work today. Crap. Well, I guess I'm grateful to have a job and the opportunity to make up some of the hours I lost to budget cuts. Hope your Monday is whatever you would like it to be.
