This will be a quick post.
Just a few orts to toss your way and to let you know I will be back blogging regularly next week.
Okay, I got a job. I like the people that I met at orientation. Its a short hop on and off the freeway... 5 to 10 minutes tops.
Its in a retail store. Its only part time.
But it will do... for now.
I am also in the process of getting a second job. I've done both interviews there and even peed in the cup for them.
All that's left is for me to pass my background check.
So maybe I'll have two jobs.
That's ducky.
:-)
The old gal is having a birthday next week. Yep!
DaBear and DaTurkey are coming down this weekend...
tomorrow to help us celebrate.
I can't think of a better present than to have my daughter and grandson here.
That makes our weekend full.
Sat. is DUCK day.
They play the Cal Golden Bears.
There will be goodies, beverages and fun times...
and a win.
And cake!
Yay! Yay! YaY!
i hope they don't make you pee in a cup on a regular basis.
ReplyDeletei think the pendulum has swung too far in favor of the employer.
Happy to see you're still out there. Good on the job. Something beats nothing. Go Ducks, woot, yay, and all that.
ReplyDeleteDon't fall totally off the map ;-)
Congratulations on your new job!
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful to hear you may begin blogging again. I've missed you :-)
billy pilgrim-- Peeing in a cup is hard for me, unfortunately peeing on my hand isn't.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how recovered addicts, etc get jobs after they've gotten it together and deserve another chance?
Cricket-- I have missed each and every one of you. Earth and I abide. I still have to go and read everyone's blogs. Time is not on my side right now. But I'm making it a priority to get back to my routine.
ReplyDeletelaura b.- Thank you. As I told Cricket, I've missed you all too.
ReplyDeleteAll-- Thanks on the congratulations. These days it takes a ridiculous amount of time to find a job. Now that I have at least one, maybe two, I will have time again. Sheesh!
Yay is right. But peeing in a cup - interviews sure have changed.
ReplyDeletesecret agent woman-- Yes, interviews have changed a lot!
ReplyDeleteWhen he asked me to drive to the testing place, I had no idea at all where it was. I'm too new to this area and it is a big city. But I managed to only make one wrong turn and did my thing on time.
Congrats on the job, and good luck on the other. And the Ducks survived a real scare. Here's hoping it's them and Boise in the championship. I'd love to see that track meet.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your possible two jobs! What a load off. I've never had a job where they made me pee in cup before.
ReplyDeleteI hope your birthday is wonderful.
Woot yay and all that! :-0)
ReplyDeleteSo, do you get discounts? Beware if so - you'll spend all your hard earned cash. I've been there...
Suldog-- Thanks. Yes, my ducks did. Everyone expected the score to be big and I have to give it to the Cal Bears, they worked very hard and played smart.
ReplyDeleteChurlita-- Ha. I am kind of used to it at this point. They also do credit checks and background checks. I can see it for a school job where kids are a concern but to work in a store?
Pamela-- Yes, as a matter of fact I now have discounts at two stores and you are correct. I must be very careful. When I was on the orientation tour, my eyes were shopping the entire time.
ReplyDeleteYay on getting the job!
ReplyDeletei'd be screwed on the credit check,,,,,,, yay on the job(s)
