(Blogger is frightened by the skull...
and doing weirdness with space again...
so be patient and scroll all the way down past the gaps please.)
Yikes!
It's time for Saturday Scavenger Shots again!
Today's word is "UTENSIL".
The above photo is not mine...
I plucked it from this site:
http://gadgets.boingboing.net/2008/10/27/giant-skull-made-out.html
What could be better than...
"A zygomatic bone glommed together from old sauce pots; a mandible constructed from rusty whisks; a maxilla ossified from dinner plates and moustachioed with unwashed spoons. This gloriously sepulchral skull constructed entirely from old cookware and crockery was on display in London's Regent Park a couple weeks ago as part of the Frieze Art Fair."
to fully illustrate "utensil"?
Of course, I can't think of the word "utensil" without thinking of
barbecue... and with the 4th of July coming up...
barbecue is our plan for the holiday.
So how about some barbecue "utensil" art?
I did not come up with that "utensil" piece.
But it certainly says...
time to barbecue!
Okay... a perfectly terrible shot of the man
barbecuing.
There are some "utensils" there on the right...
if you can see them!
All this talk about "utensils" has made me hungry!
I'm thinking....
Chinese food!
So grab your "utensils"....
aka: chopsticks...
and dig in!
Happy Saturday Scavenger Shots everybody!
(I hope the man will let us get take out.)
;D
And don't forget to use the side bar here to visit

and
Eclectic Spaghetti
for more SSS and next week's word.
Then go out and take your best shot!
Wow - a skull o'utensils! I never would've thought of that! Oh and I love chopsticks as a utensil. I learned to use them and then I could twirl my pasta correctly. Weird story, but chopsticks kind of changed the way I ate certain things.
ReplyDeleteNew word for next week is Sun! :)
Tara- I know, I'd never have thought to make a giant skull out of utensils either and I was very surprised to find it when I googled our word!
ReplyDeleteI think chopsticks are great inventions and fun to use. I like to watch people who don't know how to use them figure it out.
Yay for SUN!
ReplyDeleteTruly original and creative use of UTENSILs! I am still quite clumsy with chop sticks, but I like to give them a go :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Fourth! And what better way to celebrate our country than by chowing down on the cuisine of one of the many ethnic groups that has made us as wonderful as we are? Yay, Chinese Food!
ReplyDeletelaura b.- The clumsiness of chopsticks is a lot of the fun. I think all meals should include laughter.
ReplyDeleteSuldog- Why thank you sir! Same to you. I quite agree... ethnic food is a wonderful way to celebrate diversity! Quite yummy too.
ReplyDeleteNice utensil shots. Mmmmm BBQ!
ReplyDeleteHi, this is Randi. Not sure if you remember me, but Dmarks sort of introduced us. Just wanted you to know that I found my own happiness and I'm getting married in December.
ReplyDelete:) Stay awesome.
The first photo is a bit scary, but the work is very very creative.
ReplyDeleteUtensil? What the Hell is that? Of course lately we let the son in law do the hard work. that way we only have to watch, then eat.
