TRAVELING MUSIC

What do you think... good traveling music or what? Yep... off again, thanks to bear and mikey p. and the loan of their car. Good company and the Superbowl before I head back again.

Enough serious stuff for a few days.  I hope you all relax and do whatever it is that makes you happy. I am.  What will you do?

If you are into it... what team are you behind for the Superbowl?
Either way, Saints or Colts, it promises to be a good game.  Best of luck to your team.

The weather here is actually behaving spring-like!  I hope it stays that way.  But rain or shine, it won't matter much to me.
I always have a good time there.

It looked like I might have to miss it.  What would I do without my family and the people who keep me smiling?

Today, tomorrow and Sunday are gifts.  Enjoy!

  1. I do not care for football and have had no use for it since high school. And I did not have much use for it then either.

The Superbowl is just an excuse to maybe eat and watch funny commercials. The trick is to find something to do between the commercials, like maybe read a book, or go to someone else's house and play with their dog or cat.

There were a couple of years that I had the place to myself that Sunday. I solved the problem by taping the whole thing and then fast-fowarded through the game parts and only watching the funny commercial parts.

  2. Gotta love the Kinks. Especially "Lola."

I've got the weekend on my own No Superbowl for me, just some lazing around, good food and perhaps little retail therapy.

  3. I love the Kinks, too. If I had a child, no matter what sex, he/she was going to be named Raymond Douglas Davies Kinks + my last name.
Our Superbowl experience typically consists of my husband drinking lots of beer, falling asleep before the game starts, me watching the entire game including the commercials, and my husband waking up at the very end and giving me the details of the game. I actually look forward to the same scenario every year. We are quite a team.

  4. My kooky sister scheduled my sister-in-law's baby shower on Super Bowl Sunday. I don't think she knew it at the time because she also planned attending a Super Bowl party. Let me tell you, there is a lot of grumbling going on over this.

Not only that, but this is my s-i-l's 4th child. My feeling is, why are we even having a baby shower? She and her sisters have many, many children between them and tons of baby equipment. There's been some grumbling over that too.

Anyway, I'll be going to this unnecessary baby shower and leaving early. I will watch the game at home with my family and consume more adult beverages than I should, but what the hey, I want to hoist a few to the last football game of the season.

    Go Colts.

  5. Excellent traveling music! So glad to hear your family could loan you some transportation so that you can still have your fun weekend.
I am not into football and neither is DR. We plan to spend that day doing something we like more.

  6. You can always choose based on the food bets. From the AP:

"It's a Super Bowl tradition by now: politicians from opposing cities or states entering friendly wagers.

U.S. Sens. Mary Landrieu, D-La., and Evan Bayh, D-Ind., are doing just that.

If the Colts win, Landrieu has promised to serve the Indiana senator red beans and rice. And if the Saints win, Bayh will be giving Landrieu Indiana popcorn."

Popcorn??? New Orleans/Louisiana food is obviously much more interesting.

  7. Great song, for traveling or anything else. My personal favorite would have to be Low Budget, and for the obvious reason. Hey, we poor folk need an anthem, too.

Enjoy the game. Until just now I had no idea it was Superbowl Sunday, which shows about how much it affects me. Now that I'm thinking of New Orleans, though, maybe I'll try to whip up some cajun food. On the other hand, the market may not be anywhere I want to go, what with everyone else's parties and all. Hm. We'll see.

Hope you have a great week-end.

  8. laughing-- I know, football isn't for everyone. That's a good plan to fast forward if you aren't into it. Enjoy your day whatever you do.

  10. Peggy-- Too funny! While he hasn't had any beer, DH is conked out on the sofa as I type. I'll wake him for the game. Sounds like you two are the perfect team.

  11. Cube-- Go Colts! I agree, by number 4 why should you have a shower? But family is family, so you go. She clearly wasn't thinking about the Superbowl when the date was set. Too funny.

I cannot enjoy adult beverages and then drive. :-(
But I will enjoy the game.

  12. dmarks-- That's funny! Neither of these are "my" teams. DH is deciding based on cheerleaders and I'm chose according to which players have the best butts. Ha. We will have chili cheese dip and fritos.

  13. Cricket-- I just made a run to the market and it was not bad. I think it was probably crazy this morning though. Twenty minutes to game time. Woot! Enjoy whatever you do.

Low Budget... excellent choice! Why didn't I think of that? Ha.

  14. I hope you had a great weekend. I was happy the Saints won. I also hope you didn't have any car problems this week. I can't wait to hear how it all went.

  15. Churlita-- No car troubles yay! I had a great time. Stayed through the game and then had diner before the drive home. Now its back to the grind.
