I Woke up with a weekend crash and burn... you know what I mean... where you feel like you could really use another weekend, right now and possibly a bloody mary for breakfast. I don't know how many times I hit the snooze... which meant that I had to hit the ground running to make it to work on time. There was not enough coffee in the world today. Yeah, that kind of Monday where you are at war with the world of well rested cheerful people.
The date however turned out great. We walked to a nice Mexican food restaurant close by. Wonderful time for it too... not cold, clear and in a nice area. I miss the city. It was a treat. The food was good and so were the margaritas. We walked back and settled in to watch Casablanca and some other great old movies. Lots of funny stories. There is nothing like laughing to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. A perfect date. How often does that happen? Well not often for me. I didn't even break anything. Ha. (I am a klutz.)
As it turns out, S is an excellent cook as well. I don't mean that he can make a pot-luck casserole, though no doubt he can. I mean a skilled cook. He made a stroganoff from scratch that was so tender that it melted in your mouth and paired it with a delicious Shiraz from Australia. A very thoughtful man, who provided me with everything I enjoy... like Russian vodka. I was pampered, spoiled and totally indulged. I cannot recall feeling so completely sated! Yikes. I'd say it was a date that I doubt I will ever forget. Believe me... I've had dates that I could not wait to forget.
If you are thinking that my weekend could not have gotten any better... wrong. Squeaky came home to visit too! The boys got to all be together... Boo and their dad as well. Great to see them all together and enjoying each other.
All good things come to an end. Sigh. That damn alarm clock and reality intruded. Back to the grind. But at least I had reason to smile back at the well rested happy people. I did too... all day long. I ended my day at work doing something I have not gotten to do it awhile. I ran out the back door of the library, climbed on the swing and just gloried in the sunshine and warm day. It felt good to fly.
Big grins everyone.
What did you all do this weekend?
