AlienCG-- MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!! Same to you.
ReplyDeletelime-- You are most welcome for Doug and Bob. I thought a nice bit of humor after the tear jerker song was in order. CHEERS!
ReplyDeletePeggy-- Merry Christmas to you and Don! I am also glad that we reconnected. Made me wonder why I hadn't looked for you sooner. I'll be sending you a nice lovely long email in the next few days.
ReplyDeletelaura b.-- Merry Christmas to you and your peeps! I feel the same way... a wonderful gift. Speaking of which... I got my Target card. Thank you! That was fun. I knew Donny was a shoe-in... he's only been dancing professionally since he was about 2. Ha!
ReplyDeleteCrazy4coens-- Hey... same to you and the fellas! You get some juicy emails too. Want all the dirt or just the highlights?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words... some I brighten and others I think I send up in flames... but hey, I yam what I yam.
And as the Bear says... I loves ya like a fat kid loves cake!
billy pilgrim-- Hahaha jonny larue is never going to get that crane.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to see the fast food princess and your wonderful son and have a great time. Merry Christmas to all of you!
The promise of a nice, long email from you is all I could want for Christmas. If the timing is not convenient, I will certainly understand.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ananda.
Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteCoincidentally, I mentioned this ELP song in a post on someone else's blog a couple of days ago.
Trivia point: this song lifts from Prokofiev's "Lt. Kije Suite". Sting's song "Russians" is pretty much entirely based on another section of "Lt. Kije".
Peggy-- Glad that I could make that wish come true! Look for it. I've got way too much time on my hands right now. No better time really.
ReplyDeletedmarks-- Great minds think alike! ha
ReplyDeleteThanks for the trivia... I did not know this.
As you know, I am over fond of this man's voice. Most of his songs are firmly (ha... makes a good pun since he was in The Firm.) planted in my head and can be called up with every note.
Plus I love the message in it. Our lives are what we make of them. Not that I think that people who go without deserve that fate, but I don't think that was the intent. But if you are bitter and have no one... you need to make adjustments in your life. Give and then you receive. We make our happiness for the most part.
Here's wishing you peace in your heart this year... and all others to follow.
Lake was in "The Firm"? Did not know that!
ReplyDeleteI think he's probabiy the #2 or #3 best male vocalist, actually.
dmarks-- Ooops... no he wasn't in The Firm, that was Paul Rogers. Sorry, brain fart!
ReplyDeleteSo who would you say were #1 and #2?
merry feckin xmas!
ReplyDeletehave a good one.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteThanks for Aiken's "Mary Did You Know". That makes the 5th version of the song I have heard today. Mr. Cube loves the Christmas music.
billy pilgrim-- Merry fecking Christmas to you too!
ReplyDeleteCube-- Isn't it funny how that happens with a song sometimes?
ReplyDeleteI hope your family has a wonderful Christmas today... and I am glad that Mr. Cube liked the music too.
Life is full of cool stuff like that. Hope your day was a good one too.
ReplyDeleteAs for the McKenzie Bros, I haven't given a beer for Christmas, but I did once give a Vir.
ReplyDeleteI love Bob and Doug, eh. Thanks for the fun musical interlude.
