IT LIVES!

billy pilgrim suggested this one to me yesterday... and it is so perfect as a woman's view of the worth of your automobile. I'm going to be singing it all the way to Molalla today. The second song at the bottom was also suggested by billy pilgrim... a sweet finish, if you will. Enjoy !

Yes, as you can see... my clown car lives! Thanks are due to BBC, who has just been an amazing help. I am going to blog about our visit. I'll have photos for you... on Monday. He's really quite an interesting individual, not to mention part time do-gooder extraordinaire.

Today, thanks to the kindness of BBC, my car is road safe again. I'll be so thrilled to pick it up today after work and spend a bit of time visiting with him before I take off... like a rocket in my little "fire cracker" (It's too tame to be called a rocket like the 455 from Kathy Mattea's song.)

From there, I'm going to Sears with a friend who is newly separated, then to diner. We'll drive back to Dumb Potter's Hell and then... the fire cracker and I are off to Larry's for the weekend again. The only other thing I have to say is... what an amazing fecking week!

I hope your week and weekend are amazing too!

What the heck are all of you getting up to this weekend or what happened in your week that you'd like to share?

  2. billy pilgrim-- I have no doubt that you are correct, though I cannot verify that.

Hey... cool how your ID photo shows up like that. What 's the trick?

  3. Hey! Mine did it too. Is everyone's doing this now?

  4. As I see it 'clown' cars are the way forward, we all need one.

  5. Mo-- Yes, they are very handy tiny things. Mine is a 1996 Ford Aspire. It gest 40MPG when in optimal condition... mine gets about 36 at this point. It is not a total lame duck though... when I need it to, it can get up, go and pass. It does a pretty good job on hills too.

BTW, I used to have an English Ford Cortina... wonderful cars! You can see well in any direction. Roomy despite how they look from the outside. Handle like a dream. Do they still make them?

  6. Oh, good. I'm so glad your car was fixable and you get to go see your man.

Sadly, I have no real plans this weekend but to run, ride my bike and swim.

  7. BBC sounds like a good guy to have around, even if he's just passing through at a really convenient time! I can't wait to hear more about your visit.
Have a wonderful time with Larry this weekend...need I even say it?
And thanks to Billy Pilgrim for some good song recommendations, and you for posting them :-)

  8. Churlita-- Few things can make me more miserable than feeling trapped in my town. It's a great place to live if you can get OUT to get things or do things. I lived without a car here for two years and thought I might go insane. I can do it, but it is not nice. I owe BBC a huge debt... but will get into that on Monday.

Hey... right now things are feeling great but you never know where life will take you eh? I will enjoy what I can, as much as I can and when I can. We will see where it is this time next year. ;-)

Sometimes I need weekends like yours... to be left to my own thoughts and to calm down, regroup. Especially if I am in writing mode.
    Creativity needs space.

  9. laura b.-- Yes, BBC is quite a gentleman for a crumudgeon and very handy. Very nice in person.

Nope, you don't need to say it, but gosh it's nice to hear! ha.

I love sharing music with people. billy pilgrim is excellent at picking out music that I enjoy. he's handy that way. Maybe it's a billy thing... being handy. Big grin, my friend.

  10. Yay for BBC's auto repair genius gene. Don't you just love handy folks like that? I say folks only because I've known a few women that fell into that category as well. Not me, by any means, I'm only handy with obscure scientific esoterica that people don't need as often as they need carpentry and auto repair knowledge.

  11. Cube-- Yes... YAY YAY YAY! I am so thrilled. I do love handy folks. BBC was so generous too. My goodness.

Oh Cube... I love your obscure scientific esoterica! You feed my brain and I truly need that too. I'd fall down if I had to stop learning. They'd never get me up again. :-)

  12. Thanks for the kudos. I've made it my lifelong mission to never stop learning either. Now, if only I could only make my obscure scientific knowledge earn me some money, I'd be happy as a clam. Wait, that's a silly expression. What makes clams so happy? Scratch the whole clam thing, let's just say I'd be happy if I could obtain remuneration as a result of my obscure scientific knowledge.

  13. What... you are out of town this weekend? Mikey is going to Pullman in the morning and will be gone for a few days? I thought I was going to have a mommy and me day, oh well. I will silently cry myself to sleep tonight.

  14. Bear: haha! I like your natural gift for guilting your mom! My kids can pull it off too, to varying degrees, but that right there is prime stuff :-)

  15. i am so glad to hear he got you rcar running well for you. i know how frustrating it is to be without wheels and how blasted expensive it can be to make them work again.

  16. So glad to hear you've got your wheels again. I don't know what I'd do without mine - it's just a little Mazda but I totally depend on it.

  17. So again I read this and did not comment? UGH.
I just listened to the first song. Really good! On to the next

  18. Cube-- A hem! I have often wondered about the happiness of clams myself. What makes a clam happy if a grain of sand irritates them enough to spin a pearl around it? Are they happy when the pearl makes the sand go away? I suppose it could be like satisfying a terrible itch. How do you tell if a clam is happy or sad since they don't smile or cry? For that matter how can you be happy with only one foot? I'd fall over. But then I'm not laying in a sea bed either.

    Seagulls would be frightening.

I suspect that clams are not at all happy.

  19. thebear-- You poor thing! If only you had a mommy who cared. (heavy sigh)

I didn't cry at all... I smiled most of the night.

See you Monday evening my sweet bear. Remember... bunches and bunches and bunches...

  20. lime-- I know you do. At least I didn't have to see mine get destroyed. Yikes. How is the head? Still having migraines?

  21. secret agent wowman-- My little car is just a wee thing too, very un-impressive as cars go, but I would be lost without it. Trapped. Suffocated. I am truly grateful to BBC. He was a total gentleman and a real hero.

  22. NoRegrets-- Ha ha, I do that too sometimes. One of my great talents is to think that I have hit the post comment button and not... then find that I have been sitting on a post for an hour or so, my comment hanging like a bird cage.
