WONDERFUL LONG WEEKEND

Say hello to my new pal, "Buddy". He's a real cute guy.
He likes to walk as much as I do. The four of us walked everyday here...

The area where Mr. O... now to be known as Larry... lives... is full of Christmas tree farms. Isn't that a hoot? I like to see the way they are so out of character next to the real woods.

This was really cool... it's a nice sized lake behind Larry's property. We brought the dogs here everyday to walk around it in a loop back home.

It has salamanders, snakes, turtles, dragonflies, trout, and all sorts of critters.
Dry this time of year... good thing we don't smoke.

It has a big deck. You can swim here if you have permission.

Buddy and Barney on the deck. Barney eats stuff he shouldn't so you have to be careful with him.

Larry's house is surrounded by trees for the most part. Firs and some Blue Spruce... I love these.
At night we sat outside and watched videos by the fire pit.

My weekend was fun. I met two of his daughters and three of his grandsons. Everyone was very nice, very welcoming and friendly. I lost my nervous feeling almost right away.

By the end of the first evening... I'd been well teased and turned my deepest shade of red several times.
By the second day I was able to tease some back. I have to say that I was treated very well, spoiled rotten and waited on hand and foot. You know you're having fun when the time is gone before you know it and you groan at the thought of going home.

Now I can look forward to next time. Big grins for everyone.

  1. Ah geez, Larry, don't spoil them too much at first, after that they expect it forever, you're screwing it up for the rest of us. :-)

I get the most interesting thoughts, Larry is a fairy, he doesn't go out with girls anymore, he doesn't intend to marry, he only goes out with boys he adores, weeee, Larry's a fairy, he he he.

What can I say, I grew up in a mining and logging town that gave me a warped sense of humor.

  3. BBC-- Hey, that's okay. I've been expecting the Daryl comments to start... like "Where's Daryl and his other brother Daryl?"

As for the screw up... but BBC, I really liked it and yeah... I am going to expect it. hahaha

  4. billy pilgrim-- Yes, the turtles are a wonderful bonus! I have to be quicker with my camera and capture some of them on film. They seem to be smarter than I am and faster.

Sadly, Larry has his place up for sale. I wonder if turtle occupations are listed in real estate ads? You'd think it would be a great selling point.

  5. I hope Barney doesn't try and eat Buddy, because Buddy looks like a really nice chap.

  6. Buddy, drop by for dinner little guy, my cats are hungry.

  7. Sounds like it couldn't have gone any better than that. Good for you.

  8. It sounds wonderful. At least I get to live it all through your blog. Sigh.

  9. He's a blue heeler, isn't he? I can tell an Ozzie cattle dog when I see one :)

  10. Mo-- I'm afraid that Buddy would be more likely to eat Barney. But both are passive guys if they know you. Lots of good wiggling and happy faces.
Barney is more of a poop and garbage eater. Uck.

  11. BBC-- Buddy is bigger than he looks!

  12. secret agent woman-- Thank you. It truly did feel perfect. I was very much at home with lots of all the things I like.

  13. Churlita-- Thanks for the compliment... but I must say, many is the time that I have envied your life.

Yes, it was a perfect weekend and I get to look forward to more of them. I am thankful.

  14. Braja-- Yes! Buddy is a blue heeler... smart as a whip and twice as fast. He kept circling around us or looking back to be sure we were behind like he needed to be sure that his flock stayed together.

  15. Braja-- I'd have brought Buddy home if Larry would have let me. He is simply the greatest. Can you believe that Larry found him in a rescue center and someone abused such a fabulous creature? I hope they get boils!

  19. dmarks-- That would be fine with me. What about the word "Epic"?

I think he might be closer to an Independent. ;-)

  20. You'll excuse my saying so, but Buddy looks as though he had one too many brews at the Labor Day cookout :-)

  21. Hum, I hope that Buddy likes Natural Light because that is all I drink. On the other hand, I'll have dog treats for him to chew on while we howl at the moon.

  22. Suldog-- Hee hee... it's the one blue eye, one brown eye thing he's got going on! Isn't he just the cutest guy?

  23. BBC-- Buddy lives with Larry, not me.

I have Zito Von Frito... who will eat or drink anything you put in front of him and never question it. Including full ashtrays of butts. He gets sick and looks like he's dying then pops back up on about the third day. Hey, where have I heard that before? He's my daughter's dog. I don't actually have a dog of my own.

  26. I think it says a lot about Larry that his family was kind and welcoming to you. He sounds like a great guy, with a great family.
I am so enjoying happy, glowy Ananda Girl :-)

  27. laura b.-- I agree. They could not have been nicer. He is a great guy! It is a great family in my opinion! I don't know if I glow... but I am happy. Thanks. I'm glad that you enjoy my happy too.

  28. Buddy is the bomb! My dog used to be so bad at eating stuff he shouldn't (mainly his own poop). He's gotten better (or maybe we have spoiled him with amazing cuisine so now poop doesn't look as good as it used to :p

Sounds like you had a marvelous time. Those pictures look so idyllic. I've never been to the northwest, it is an area of the country I'm looking forward to visiting at some point.

  29. Sebastien-- Oh I do hope you make it out may way! It is a beautiful place... for all my complaints. I'd be willing to show you around. Not that I know where everything is, but I do know where some good stuff is.

  30. Sebastien-- Yes... Buddy is the bomb! I really like him. Barney is cute too, but there is something about Buddy.

  33. BBC-- Buddy lives with Larry, not me.

I know that, that's why I'm going to stay at Larry's, he he he.

  34. Wait, Larry is a fairy, ah crap, I'll have to find a campground to stay in while there, he he he

    ReplyDelete
  35. Before you say that Larry lives a fair distance from you, I know that also. I know all things, when I'm not having brain farts. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  36. BBC-- I can verify that Larry is NOT a fairy.

  37. I take a few days off from blogging and I miss out on a lot of stuff. I have some catching up to do.

Glad your Labor Day weekend was a good one. Really glad the family meet'n'greet went well.

Buddy is such a cutie that I'd like to bring him home myself.

Sorry to hear about the problems though. Hope Larry feels better soon. His two brothers should help out more ;-)

I have missed crazy4coens for a while now and I thought it was a reaction to my Obama posts. I had no idea she was having problems. I'll be adding my best wishes for her to those above.

Whew. I'm ready for another vacation.
