The Devil Went Down (TOY DOLLS Punk Cover)
TOY DOLLS...

I'm not home tonight. I'm happily enscounced at Larry's. Its sort of a story...

I have sleep apnea. My doc informed me that it was time to have another sleep test, as things change. So I got all the information on where I was going and when. The last time I did this, it invovled an overnight stay. My assumption was that this would be the case.

Nope. Now, instead of laying there all hooked up to wires on my head and chest and some strange man watching me sleep... yeah, that was an easy night to drift off! Ah-hem.... as I was saying... instead of being hooked up like that... They now have a machine that you use that does it. It is a self adjusiting thing. Amazing what they can do.

Basically what happens with sleep apnea is that your throat closes up when you relax and you do not get enough air, which is hard on your heart. So this machine uses forced air to open your throat so that you can breathe. You wear a mask with a hose that hisses. My kids loved my first machine. Squeaky was thrilled to have an alien mother.

So dork that I am, I arrive at this place with my bag of jammies and clean unders and clothes for the next day. They hand me a machine, tell me to use it and bring it back. I don't know if they wondered about what was in my ecology minded grocery bag... you know the cloth ones you get for a buck? Hey, if I'm going to be a bag lady, may as well be a green one.

I admit confusion but never look a gift horse in the mouth. This put me within close range of Larry, who I was happy to wake up in time to get ready for his work day. That is where I am now. Larry of course is at work since he works all night long. I am much happier here with a strange machine than I would have been with a strange man at the hospital watching me. Take your joy wherever you find it!

Tomorrow there are appointments to be kept. The machine has to be turned in. The specialist has to read the machine and write the prescription, should he decide that I still need one... Then I will have to spend time at the machine place waiting for one to be calibrated to my specs. Then they will teach me how to use it. They're like microwaves... no two are alike enough to be sure what button you push the first try will be right.

Oh well... I have a sub tomorrow so that I can run around from place to place getting it done. I will let you know what happens. It all lands me right back here. I am getting so used to this house that it feels like home.

Now I'm going to go climb into bed with Buddy. We will share a few Parmesean Gold Fish Crackers before I snooze. Deadwood is on the tube... we've just met the amazing Wu and his piggies. Ick.

Happy Friday all! I'll be here all weekend again, just enjoying life. What will you be doing?

  1. What I want to know is whether being happily enscounced at Larry's means that you were also 'as happy as Larry'?

Then I'm headed into the mountains for a few days and nights.

I love that song but that vid sucked for quality, at least it sounds like shit on my puter.

  14. As for the bishop... you pour the gas and I'll flick the bic.

First ya gotta give him a fair break. Nail his nuts to the floor and give him a razor blade before setting the place on fire.

  15. My niece is turning 23 so basically it's just an excuse for the family to get together and have a few laughs, usually at my expense. I'm the oldest sibling and they love to bring up all the evil $hit I pulled as a kid. It's OK. I can take it :-)

  18. Cube-- Oh, siblings! Yes they do like to dredge up old stuff don't they? We laugh until we snort usually... and then because one of us snorted. Its a family trait.

Ix? Will have to look into that. Thanks.

  19. Churlita-- I am home again now and yes, my weekend are working wonders for me. I feel badly because I have Squeaky here... but I hate to come home. How sad is that? It's nice to be the one who is spoiled for a change.

  20. So will you have to wear a C-PAP machine?

    ReplyDelete
  21. secret agent woman-- Yes, I now have a C-pap machine. I used it last night. I've had one in the past too. I don't know if I slept better or not. I don't feel all that rested, more exhausted really.

  22. Sebastien-- Oh my... you did not get to have an alien mother? I'm sorry. My children found me hillarious. They used to like to make me talk to them while I had it on because it made my voice sound funny. They remind me a bit of your children!

  23. Haha, that's funny. Actually, scary that your children remind you of my children. Frightening.
