RANDOM BITS AND RIDICULOUS RICHES

It's a fairly loose theme today. "Random bits and Ridiculous Riches".

A short post.

This is one of Max's paintings. Or I should say, a portion of it. The painting is much larger. I like it.

This is a very cool thing donated to our school and hung in the library. Check it out!

The Geochron World Clock.

The brighter part is where the sun is shining on the world at any given time. It is also a calendar and tells the actual time everywhere, latitude, longitude and shows the international date line. I can literally watch the sun move over the earth as the day passes.

Ridiculous!

Corney too.

The next bit is somewhat ridiculous too, in a delightful way. It is for "thebear". My Bear. An inside joke that you can enjoy without getting the actual joke. I have been a very bad mom lately. Selfishly enjoying myself elsewhere and ignoring poor Bear. Sorry Bear. I'm doing it again this weekend. But I found this gem to give you giggles in the meantime. Enjoy Jello ! Oh... all the way to the moon and back!

  1. Well, I can't see half of the pictures today.

Is everyone having this problem, or it is just my lousy computer?

  2. laughing-- It looks okay to me. However, the other day I had the same problem at Crazy4Coens. Things looked all messed up.

I think that was a Blogger problem.

  3. Sinburn is the last picture I can see.

A church I used to go to have a service called "Sonrise". I think that was a fine and dandy name, and a good play on words. The problem to me was that the service was in the evening. With a name like that, it should have been an early morning service.

    Nice post, Ananda, as always.

  6. Peggy-- Thanks. My head is full of drivel... I gift you with it. ;-)

  7. billy pilgrim-- Isn't that price awful? It's cool to watch and play with, but I imagine I'll get bored with it soon enough.

However, when the Great Turtle Race happens, I will know if the sun is shining or if it's night were my turtle swims. I am looking forward to using it to track her.

My son has a claculator that frightens me.

  8. I love that painting. He's so talented. Poor Bear. I;m sure she understands that you're happy and is willing to share your time for that.

  10. Great visuals in this post :-) I wish we had one of those clock things! That is way cool. I like Max's painting as well.
And hey...there is always room for Jello. Even Jello Biafra.

  11. Ouch, at eighteen hundred bucks I'll never own one of those clocks. I don't much give a damn what time it is somewhere else anyway. Half of the time I don't much give a damn what time it is here, I'm retired baby.

Except when it's time to go camping, that's important shit.

  12. I couldn't see some photos either, AG. I will come back & try again, of course.

  13. I love that World Clock. I'd like it for my basement, but the price tag requires it be bought for me.

I like the Kennedys video. I've heard of that midget movie, too.

  14. max has got your talent. i tell you - you gotta get back at it!

  15. Churlita-- Oh she does. We tease each other relentlessly. The midgets are for her and so is Jello. She used to aske me for a midget for Christmas. And well, Jello just is a hoot.

  16. Sebastien-- I am too literal for the sign I guess. To me it sounds like they are trying to get you to block Jesus... which makes no sense from a church about Jesus. Nonsensical!

Thanks. I will tell Max that you said so. His work is vibrant and full of energy... that really is a great term for it.

  17. laura b.-- I have an great affection for that flavor of Jello. ;-)

The clock is fun. I had a ball watching kids try to read it today, and let me tell you, we had a couple of bright ones that figured it out pronto. I was impressed. The ah-hem, adults were having a great deal of trouble.

  18. BBC-- Well, it really is useful as much as a curiosity. I'm having fun seeing what it looks like where my bloggers are at.

  19. Cube-- I am not on my home computer and can't see some of the photos either. It's also added a blank photo space where I didn't even have a photo. Odd.

  20. AlienCG-- I enjoy the Dead Kennedys. Jello has one bit that I love where he is filling in time while a broked guitar string is being replaced... so he is chatting. He happens to be at a local watering hole near my neck of the woods... which of course makes it even more fun. He begins this wonderful little tale with "The last time I was in Portland..." and I have to laugh at the truth of it right down to the "life sized Tonka Truck" the fag haters were in.

Our clock was fortunately donated. Yikes! It would be perfect for your basement though. And you would find it interesting.

  21. Crazy4Coens-- Max has ten times the talent I ever dreamed of having. But thanks for the nice encouragement.
