Dropkick Murphys with a little help from Shane Macgowan of The Pogues.
Friday... a new weekend coming up. No Pogues this weekend. Maybe I'll go visit the Bear and Boy. Probably not.
Maybe it's the weekend to take that long hike to Eagle Creek and back. Be a busy bee and do housework? If the weather holds nice, I could do the last of the yard work until spring. Sure won't be mowing anytime soon.
Dog got into the cans and spread them all over the yard again...
Maybe I should take them and cash them in.
Crap... another glorious weekend in Dumb Potter's Hell...my private prison.
I hope your weekend is fun even if mine sucks... and it will.
"Dog got into the cans and spread them all over the yard again...Maybe I should take them and cash them in."
ReplyDeleteWhat sort of bounty do they pay on dogs in your neck of the woods?
I will be getting to see some of my friends tomorrow, but as with everything else I lack money, so I probably will not get to do as much as I would like.
ReplyDeleteToday I will work on some knitting and probably make a video or two. It is good to be knitting again, but that isn't going as well as I would like, cause I don't have the proper tools, and I don't have any money to order replacements. I am trying to make do with similar things designed for other machines and such. It isn't quite right, but as the Christmas party is now about two months away, I can't put off these projects any longer on the hope that I will find the tools or be able to buy replacements.
Staying busy is a good idea. The hike sounds like more fun than the yard work, at least to me.
ReplyDeleteMr. Cube will be playing golf on Saturday so that frees me up to have a quiet of puttering around the house.
Sunday, I won't be so lucky. We will be traveling about 2 hours each way to see my in-laws who are down from Cape Cod. Don't get me wrong, I could do much worse in the in laws department. It's just that the men & boy go play golf (i.e., have fun) while the girls have to fend for themselves and it's usually kind of boring. Lots of small talk about the few things we have in common. I can only hope I can catch a part of the Bucs game at some point *sigh*
dmarks-- If they had a bounty on dogs here, I'd have cashed this mutt in long ago. He's really the Bear's dog. He is a pain. No Buddy.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you're feeling sad. My cure is always comfort and escapism. In whatever form that takes. Sometimes it's fun to go out and have guys hit on you. Even if you don't want them, it's nice to have the attention...
ReplyDeletesounds like a good time to do nothing.
ReplyDeletediscard the "doing" mentality and embrace "being".
i think slowing down and achieving a little inner peace is far better than running around trying to do something just for the sake of just doing something.
of course achieving the "being" mindset is easier said than done.
laughing-- Do they have a "freecycle" in your area? You can get all sorts of stuff for free. It's like a craig's list of free-bees. Ours is flooded wiht holiday give-aways right now.
ReplyDeleteChurlita-- I used to do that but it was bad for my body due to the unhealthy methods I opted on. Now I try and do the same with opposite methods... which is why I think I'm going for that long hike. As long as I am moving and my MP3 is plugged into my head... I'm where my mind is happy. Its when I am still and silence rules that I get down.
ReplyDeletebilly pilgrim-- I am not sure that I like myself very much right now. I get this way and then I beat the tar out of my psyche for a bit, then when I get pissed off enough, I make positive changes.
ReplyDeleteI wish from the depth of my soul that I could embrace the calm. There is nothing calm in my head. Chaos rules. But you may be right... maybe that's why I am so unhappy at times. I will give it an honest try... when I do that hike at the half way point, I'll lay in the ferns and try to let my mind go quiet while I rest. I'll let you know how that goes. Thanks for the advice.
Cube-- Ack! I missed you. Ooohhh... stuck with aliens. Well, maybe it won't be so bad. I too didn't have much in common with my aliends. Damn. I'll think happy thoughts for you... hope you get to catch some of the game.
ReplyDeleteYou should watch Dexter!!!
ReplyDeletedude, speaking of random acts of depressing, my dog ran into a tree b/c he was so focused on chasing his ball he didn't see the tree. We were very worried, thought he might have seriously injured his eye, the skin was ripped off in that area. Fortunately it wasn't a deep wound, we brought him to the vet and he is ok. What a silly guy, he gets so excited with his ball he doesn't pay attention to anything else!
Sebastien-- Are you kidding? I AM A FREAKING DEXTER FREAK! I cannot miss Dexter... I have them all, including the books... which are different, btw but outstanding.
ReplyDeleteI sort of think of Dex as my personal slayer. You are right... I think I'll pull some Dexter out and revel in the debauchery.
Sebastien-- Oh poor dog! I'm so glad his eye will be okay. Contrary to how my gripe about Bear's dog sounds, I really do like most dogs.
ReplyDeleteFrito is an exercise in patience... and I have zero patience. So for me, he is the essence of frustration. He needs a home where he is loved and can run free. Mostly I feel sorry for Frito.
Of course we do have both craigslist and freecycle here, but I have trouble finding someone selling the right tools, so I doubt that I will be finding anyone giving away the right equipment. Still, when it get dull around here, I look anyway. I'm currently bidding on an ebay thing, but I have serious limits on what I can spend, and even then I wouldn't get the tools for another couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteI don't want you to think I'm picking on you but much of your hell is a hell you created.
ReplyDeleteI told you a few weeks ago that you should get rid of that dog, if Bear won't take it in with her just find it a new home. Being there isn't fair to you or it because it degrades both of your lives.
Geez, I sound like a parent and no one listens to them.
I'm just going to fiddle fart around here this weekend, working on the camper and other things. But I may go camping next weekend, or sometime before the end of the month.
You can have a good weekend, just do something that improves your life, besides going out and having fun I mean. Put on some music and clean and organize. :-)
My kitchen never has dirty dishes in it, I clean them as I dirty them. But I need to take a firehouse to the rest of it, ha ha ha.
What sort of bounty do they pay on dogs in your neck of the woods?
ReplyDeleteShe lives in America and would be lucky to give it away. The only way to get any real benefit out of it would be to eat it but they frown on that in this country.
If it gets real bad here we won't eat our dogs, we'll eat the neighbors dogs. Hey, I just state the facts.
The most basic law on this planet is to survive, we arrive here with that hardwired into us. I'd eat the neighbor if I had to. I think I would start with the breasts, ha ha ha...
ReplyDeleteWell, maybe not, I guess that's just fatty tissue, like a turkey or chickens tail, ha ha ha.
ReplyDeleteDont be sad or feel sorry for yourself, its bad for youre complection. Come see me.
ReplyDeleteBBC-- You are yanking my chain again. I am not good at listening.
ReplyDeleteBesides, I have tried and tried to give that dog away. People do not want him. At least here he is fed, warm and safe. I don't have the heart to put him down just because no one wants him.
What if they did that to me?
Bear-- Aren't you the one who told me that my skin was beautiful and you wished you had skin like mine? What can harm this beauty? ha!
ReplyDeleteJust joking. I am not feeling beautiful. Not even my skin. My brain hurts.
No, I wasn't yanking your chain. And stop feeling sorry for yourself, that's a waste of time. Get pissed, do something.
ReplyDeleteIf there are some Koreans in your area they will take that dog, just don't ask them what they are going to do with it. To them it is just part of the food chain and I'm okay with that.
ReplyDeleteNever mind, it's my IQ, it passed 114 in the fifth grade. Don't know what it is now, don't care.
Aside from what you may or not of learned and heard, an IQ is not static, it can enlarge.
ReplyDeleteIt just depends on what you put in your brain, or reject.
