GOOD NEWS BAD NEWS

How about a bit of spring to cheer our chilled spirits?

Tax-mas is coming... soon.  I got word today that I can pick up my W-2 anytime I want.  That's the good news... bad news of course is that its in the town to the left and I can't seem to find a ride there.  Worse yet, I will need someone willing to wait while I get my taxes done.

The good news is that both my cars are going to be repaired.  The Prism first, because its an easier fix... and well as you can see I need a car.

I just got a letter saying that I am supposed to schedule an appointment with doc for the yearly physical. You know how much fun those are I assume. Give my doc the chance and he'll send me in to have another "smash and flash"  aka mammogram.

Of course nothing is more fun than a colonoscopy. Be sure you ask for one of those next time you have a check up!

More bad news... my schedule has changed again.  More library time is lost.  More one on one with lice carriers.  Our first case of head lice was confirmed today.  Ick.  My head itches just thinking about it.

On top of that, I now spend a half an hour a day with the kindergarten.
I help with writing there.  This means that because we cannot insist that they wear lead pants or shoes, someone has to keep the little darlings in their seats and on task.
You will laugh at this.  We start my time there with exercises.  Yes, I exercise right along with them.
They get a real kick out of that.
Me too actually.

The big news at our house is that a comic my kids like is being made into a movie.  It's called Kick Ass.  Yep.
Has anyone else heard of it?  Just curious.

Well, its off to bed so that I don't fall asleep while listening to some little darling read tomorrow.  I'm hoping some bright idea will show up in the morning that will help me get to the town to the left.  My brain won't rest much until I figure that out.  Where there's a will... there's a way.

  1. I have school today from 12-4:30 which pretty much cancels out any point of giving you a ride. Now tomorrow, I am free. So if you don't have a ride yet- call me! I can just pick you up, drop you off and go home until you are done. Pretty easy. Loves!

  5. So, when they cut library hours they find other things for you to do? Is that how it works? I bet the kindergarteners and all the other kids really enjoy their time with you :-)

Glad to hear the Bear came through for you! Yay for cool daughters!

  6. Hey, I would have given you a lift. You'd have to help me out on the gas, though.

  7. laura b.-- What happened is that we had students arrive who need special education help. They must be given it by law... despite the fact that there is not enough money...I am part of robbing Peter to pay Paul to make sure that their needs are met. Priorities.

I get lots of snotty nosed hugs! I get a real kick out of the Ks.

  8. Cricket-- Of course I'd help with gas... and buy you lunch too! Too bad we're on opposite coasts. That's one long drive. Ha. Thanks for the offer. ;-)

  9. Ha! You arranged your ride through your blog! Now there's a practical use for the net!

Just got Turbo Tax installed today, so I can start entering data. Blegh - but it has to be done.

  10. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my taxes this year. So many things have changed that I'll actually have to break down and pay someone else to do them. I know H and R block is expensive, but I hear they do them pretty quickly. I might go with them.

  11. secret agent woman-- Hahaha... you're right! It was pretty handy.

Good for you gettting it out of the way. Better a past pain than one waiting to happen.

  12. Churlita-- That is where I go and I have never had trouble with them. They are fast, but it comes at a cost. Slower, if you can, nets you more money.

  14. billy pilgrim-- Yikes! It must be raining hard there. I hope your Olympics don't wash away.

You are welcome for the flash of spring. I only wish it was here.
We had sunshine for about half an hour today. So I ran outside and took my turn on the swing set. Felt so good to see the sun.

  15. I LOVE the fact that you took your turn on the swing set. I totally embarass my husband by doing that when we pass a public park or schoolyard.
I think I may have been banned from one or two.

  17. Peggy-- I guess we need to drink a couple of pots of coffee when I come down and push some kids off the swings... hee hee.

  18. I don't do taxes anymore, being under that radar.

In Dumb Potters Hell a ride to the town to the left is as simple as walking to the on ramp and sticking your thumb out.

  19. Kick Ass.. haven't heard of it, but it intrigues me. Yes it does.

I hope you find a ride!!! pic is gorgeous by the way. Exercise is the best. You should practice kung fu and tai chi with the kids. That would be awesome.

  20. Sebastien-- The kiddos are funny. We do weird exercises in our chairs. Its a riot. I would be up for anything like that. ha.

  21. Billy B.-- That's nice.

I no longer hitch-hike. There was a time though.

  22. Sebastien-- You can find the trailer for Kick-Ass on youtube. It has a lot of graphic violence... a whole lot. Interesting story line too.

  24. Billy B.-- That was last night. I'll do it again tonight though.

  25. I no longer hitch-hike. There was a time though.

Well, it's only about a three hour walk. But I'd hitch-hike myself, I'm damn sure not above that.

  28. Just for fun, I did the math. Yep, one of those "Ralph Kramden" things.

Anyways, from here to there is about 3100 mi. and 48 hrs. driving. I get about 22 mpg. Gas here is $2.75. So, if we split the gas, that would be $387.50 each.

I suppose for that kind of money you could just charter a helicopter.

  29. Cricket-- Ha! I love that you did the math. Actually, for just my share of cost I could get my car fixed. hee hee
