I hope you enjoy the silly bit above. I chose it for a specific purpose. It's for Mikey, my grandson's daddy. He has fought a great battle and come out the victor. We know it was hard. We watched him struggle. But once he made up his mind, it was done. Happy 3rd year anniversary of your sobriety Mikey!
I don't often talk about Micheal. He was such a different person than he is now when we first met him. Frankly, we thought that the Bear had lost her freaking mind! That is the truth. Now we feel very differently indeed.
I consider him my son. We are all very proud of him and how hard he has worked to turn his life around. Proud of how successful he has been. He is a great dad, our Mikey, and that's saying a lot coming from me. It's not a compliment that I give away easily. He has been good to my daughter, which earns him extra hugs. (We know that the Bear can be very scary!)
He is a hard worker, building his own business has not always been easy, but he has stuck with it. Mostly we are awfully glad that he came to be part of our family. Our lives are better for it.
Much love and respect Michael... you deserve it! And hey... watch out for Bear and her nosey-blowseys! Yikes.
A bit of Flogging Molly for ya' Mikey!
Put to Dr. Who clips!
COngratulations, Mikey. Keep up the good work and don't look back.
ReplyDeleteBIG congratulations on the three years, Mikey! I've been off cocaine 19 years now, so I know how tough it is to kick something. Keep up the great work, and enjoy the love that is your reward!!!
ReplyDeletethat is a noteworthy accomplishment. here's to many more years of sobriety!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Mikey. That is really awesome and tell him to keep up the good work. And Ananda Girl I am glad you found me on Facebook - even though I scare you sometimes - it is good to see another friend out there. Take care.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your son-in-law. He deserves the kudos.

ReplyDeleteSuldog-- That's pretty special! You are so right.
Mr.Shife-- You know I adore you and baby Shife! How could I stay away from those great baby photos? And scare me you do, but the thrill is a great ride! Thank you for taking me on! See you there. BTW I have a terrible and inappropriate joke for you.
That's great. I love it when you gamble on someone's potential and win.
ReplyDeleteChurlita-- Yep! Thanks. He's a great guy too.

ReplyDeletegood work mikey, they say the first 3 years are the hardest.
ReplyDeletei once saw some graffiti on an old building that i'll never forget:
"alcohol is a weapon of the state"
billy pilgrim-- I love that graffiti quote!
ReplyDeleteIt's true. Alcohol sedates the unhappy masses.
I'm such a weenie about pain in movies, that I can never watch this bit. In spite of how much I love Monty Python.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Mikey.
secret agent woman-- I forget that about you being sensitive. OOps.
ReplyDeleteNi!

Cube-- I love that part! I also get a big kick out of laughing cow cheese... "la vash qui ni"! The spelling there may be a bit off.
