HAPPY THURSDAY

I felt like this today... thought I'd share, but as always... if not to your taste... skip it!

Today was a frustrating day at work. Let's leave it at that. It was an early release day. I accepted the job of being sort of a babysitter on those days for parents who cannot get after school care. Usually there are only one or two kids at the most. Today I had 13. The volleyball team needed a place to wait for 2 hours. UGH.

It would have been okay except that people forgot that at some point I need to eat. I have not been eating much. You know I'm on this I'm going to lose weight thing. I'm fine as long as I follow my rules carefully for my diabetes. But it is not okay for me to eat and wait 8 hours to eat again. Which is what happened because I could not leave the students unsupervised.

The result for low blood sugar is not a happy thing. I get a blinding headache and become the worst evil being on the planet. Anandazilla! I was ready to stomp villages and kick kids into the sea.

Then I came home and looked at my house. Yuck. So I decided to lay down after a bowl of soup and have a nice little nap. Except that the boy decided that he was hungry and there was no food. He was right. There was no food. Heavy sigh. Off I went to the market for raman noodles. Five for a buck!

By then it was too late... I had become antsy again. So dropped off the food bag and headed for the school to walk again. This time a mystified custodian got to watch me walk in circles. Oh they all know that I do this. It gets a lot of comments. I think he was more mystified that I laugh and have fun when I do it. It's the music. Some of it is funny. And I am happy inside my head. I can create all sorts of stories in there while I gin around and around.

The rest of the day/evening has been just as off kilter. Just one of those days that we all have now and then. Hope yours was better than mine. Here's a weird little video that I ran across. It sucked me in... maybe it will suck you in too. If not, turn it off and run away!

  1. My day started off with something that used to make me very happy. But right now, I cannot relax and get into it. I had a mostly wasted day after that.

I think next week will be better. I sort of have something planned. Though after an email I got this morning, I am a bit worried that I got the dates wrong, and it was supposed to be this week instead of next week. I guess I will find out soon.

The Halloween party is next week. At least I have that to look forward to.

  2. Anandazilla sounds dreadful. I'm going to start carrying around candy just in case I find myself in the wrong place at the wrong time.

  3. I used to have the "Thick as a Brick" album. It folded out into the full newspaper. Sold it for about $30, which is good for an old record.

  4. laughing-- Good that next week is looking up. I can't imagine yet what I'll be doing next week. Its nice to have an idea that something good is going to happen.

The party sounds fun. I love dressing up.

  5. Mo-- Good idea, you never know when Anandazilla will go on a rampage! I normally have a little something just for that purpose, but ate mine the other day and foolishly did not replace it. However, this morning I did. I'm not making that mistake again. I wonder how many villagers I took out?

  6. damrks-- Wow. That is a good price to get. I think that they put on the most consistantly good shows of any group I've seen. Ian is so entertaining with his flute and gyrations... and hopping about. This used to be my housework music because you can put that album on and just let it go. It all blends together so well.

  8. billy pilgirm-- Back when we had turntables, I used to leave my arm to the side and let it play over and over. Eventually I would go and flip it and let it do the same to the other side. I never get tired of it really.

  9. Sorry things weren't all that great. I hope things get better and better for the weekend.

  10. Anandazilla! You should copyright that or something. It rolls off of the tongue trippingly.

You keep hitting me with music I love. Saw Tull play the old Boston Garden back in the 70's. Great show. We used to play "Locomotive Breath" in a band I was in. Thanks for bringing those memories to the fore.

  11. Churlita-- Oh I survived and so did the students. When I don't keep on top of my blood sugar things get weird fast. But I was okay as soon as I ate.

I am still nervous but hoping to have a good time. Hope things are great with your house.

  12. Suldog-- Yeah, they are so wonderful in concert. So much energy and fun... and hey, I love Locomotive Breath. Wish I could have seen the Suldog version.

Oh... you're welcome for the music. I'm on a 70s roll right now. I get this way around my birthday each year. That's in a couple of weeks. It'll likely get worse.

  14. Mama said there'd be days like this. Lucky for you it's been over and today was, hopefully, much better. I do like some of Jethro Tull's music, thanks.

  15. AlienCG--Yes, today was much better. Like the kids, I do best when my schedule is the same as always. Get me off schedule and I get excited.

You are welcome for the music. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. :-)
