Wow. I really do not want to get up and go to work in the morning. (Monday) I didn't think that I would resist it this much, but I can feel my feet dragging. It's not even morning yet. Rats.

Yesterday I babysat for Bear. That was the plan anyway. She has finals in college this week. So I agreed with very little arm twisting to watch baby Mikey while mommy locked herself in her room to study. Then I was begged to watch the other two grand kids. Well, you can't do for one and not the others... so there I was with three energetic children. They have worn me to a frazzle.

you read the sign in the top photo, you see that this is Stratton Gardens. It sits back behind the jail between a dirt parking lot and a fancy restaurant. . I didn't even know it was here for years. The hill it is built on is steep.

I was waiting for a meeting to get over when I got out and walked around. It's the first time I've ever walked thru this little garden. It's lovely, so I thought I'd share it with you.

Too bad you can't smell these, they were so sweetly scented.

Quite often I get restless and bored while waiting for meetings to end, but this time it was pleasant. He was already in the car waiting on me for a change by the time I got done shooting pictures.

I think I'll sit here and read this time. Unless it's raining.

For those of you who stopped by yesterday or sometime today before getting here... my best friend for 37 years is starting to blog.
crazy4coens at Raising Sunny You can stop in and tell her hello. I've bragged about how great you all have been to me.

Well, crap. It's Monday now. I better get some sleep before I start to howl at the moon.

I hate Mondays as a general rule. But maybe you enjoy them. I have attempted to embed "I Don't Like Mondays" by Boomtown Rats. But who knows if funch is cooperating on that tonight. Ha. It sure has had a mind of it's own. If not, here is a link to an earlier version than the one above...enjoy if you wish.

The Boomtown Rats - I Don't Like Mondays: Video

More work today. Crap. Well, I guess I'm grateful to have a job and the opportunity to make up some of the hours I lost to budget cuts. Hope your Monday is whatever you would like it to be.

  1. I didn't like Mondays much when I was working either. I wish I could get back to not liking Monday. Great pictures of the Gardens.

  2. aliencg-- Thank you. I enjoyed trapsing through it.

Not working? Sounds like an interesting story.

  3. Hey 3GirlKnight-- I love your name, BTW. Welcome to oodles of funch... thank you sir for signing up to follow. I was just visiting your blog. Nice.

  4. dmarks-- Thank you for reminding me! I'll have to take my eppi pens because I am drop-dead allergic to them. Yikes.

  5. I'm not a fan of Mondays either. That garden looks very peaceful and relaxing. It would almost make you forget that Monday is right around the corner ;-)

  6. Cube-- It is in such a secluded place that it is very serene.

But it is warm today, so I'm thinking that I will likely skip the garden today and head for the Columbia... watch the river hooligans do their stunts. Lots of kites and boardheads. It's always cooler at the river edge.

  7. That is a gorgeous garden! Who takes care of it? The city?

I dunno about Mondays. There's usually something out of the ordinary that needs fixing (not fun) but they do seem go fly by, for the most part.

  8. 3GirlKinght-- I am not sure who is responsible for it. But this very tight. It may be a labor of love on their part. I'll have to investigate. You've made me curious.

I dislike Mondays because I waste an evening doing something I do not want to do each week but feel obligated to do. For now anyway. :-)

  9. I'm wandering around your blog...and will go to Sunny :) Nice garden, btw....

  10. That is a pretty little hidden garden! Great photos, Ananada. I'll go say hi to Sunny, too. As for Mondays...well, I'll second your emotion.

  11. Braja-- Make yourself at home! Wander all you like.

Thank you for visiting crazy4coens. She would like you.

laura b.-- Thank you. It makes it even nicer that it is hidden away. Thanks for going to see my "Sunny" too.

  12. Hey, I did not know you were allergic to bees. Thank God for epi-pens,

  13. I love your photos. So pretty. i hope you get some time for yourself soon too.

  14. crazy4coens-- Yep. In 8th grade I got stung... throat swelled shut, I turned blue and passed out. Fun stuffs. I am very thankful for epi-pens. That's part of why I never went barefoot... allergic to grass is the other reason. Ha.

  15. Churlita-- Thank you. It is a lovely place, hard to go wrong there.

I will soon have lots of time to myself. I finally get off on Thursday... Whoot!

Thanks for saying that. Sometimes I think no one but me gets that I should have time to myself. :)
