TUESDAY RUMINATIONS

Two of the prettiest females on earth.
Auntie Bear and Sookie Toots, the tooth impaired wonder.

Sometimes I have trouble believing they are mine. :)

Last Saturday I took these two for a treat at my favorite coffee lounge. Sookie Toots and her daddy, B-wreck. She really liked her root beer "because it looked like a real beer". Hummmmm.... not sure I like that idea.

They shared this ham and cheese croissant. Looked good, but not my cup of tea. I had a bowl of unsweetened yogurt with fresh berries and a sprinkle of granola on top. Yum.

As we chatted this little guy played in the fountain.

Sookie Toots finished her meal with this fresh strawberry sorbet from the Italian ice wagon behind her. This place... Doppio is my people watching spot. It has a wonderful outdoor patio. The main sidewalk is right there. This is a tourist town. It's full of them in spring and summer. You can watch people from all over the world pass by.

  1. I'd pass you a shot of Bushmill's, but it's not even 10 am.

  2. I love this song. I think I have just about all of their CDs. I don't have the latest one. Good choice for a Tuesday morning.

  3. Cube-- There was more to the post, but I was in the process of doing it when you go here. yeah... it is a bit early yet. Ha!

  4. aliencg-- I knew you would like this one! You're the first person I thought of when it popped up in my MP3 player on my walk this morning.

Coaster? Got it! Very cool beans.

  6. i have no problem believing those 2 little beauties are yours. i do question the math though.

married 35 years, separated 10 years. that would make you about 65, maybe more. you must have had children late in life.

  7. Sookie Toots? I'm sure I must have missed something from earlier, but... explanation? :-)

  8. billy--AAAAGGGG. I am (oh lord help me!) not 65 or anywhere near it yet. Wow you do know how to push my buttons! Yikes.

I have worded my profile incorrectly. Thank you for questioning it and believing me to be that old. Yikes. Yikes. Once more... YIKES. My vanity hurts. I'm crazy, not menopausal.

Let me clear this up. I have been legally married to StbX for the last 35 years. However, of those, we have NOT LIVED TOGETHER or had a healthy relationship for the past ten years. Phew! I am feeling better now.

He is here so much only because my boys want their dad in their lives... and I spoil my kids while recognizing that StbX also has the right to have as normal as possible a relationship with his sons. Many people think I am nuts for doing this. I do too. You may also. I do not object to being thought crazy... just not THAT old. ;-)

  9. billy-- Thank you for believing that my math was wrong and also that I am genetically linked to my "2 little beauties". Excuse the freak out.

  11. Your girls are beautiful. Why can't your kids visit their dad at his house? Is it too small or something?

  12. lime-- NOFX are marvelous. Maybe next time I'll do "My New Vagina" for you. hahahaha They are a hoot and a half!

It was a wonderful day. Simple unhurried ones like that are the best.

  13. Cube-- I'm glad you got to come back and look. Thanks for doing that. I try to do my posts the night before and then when I get up at my ungodly hour of 4:30 (I actually love doing this, so I'm a liar about ungodly.) I put it on post at that time or anytime after midnight. I know a lot of my readers are east coast time folk.

  14. Churlita-- Yes, exactly. His house is too small. An RV. Also...Legally I have to be present for supervision of their visits for one more year when Squeaky turns 18.

  15. Well, I was more getting at the genesis of the name than the relationship to you. Any insight to offer, or is it a family secret :-)

  16. Suldog-- OOps! Some days I am dense. I'm blaming billy for rattling my brain with that 65 years old thing!

Well in that case, no secret. The Sookie is short for Sequoia... as in "Sookie, Sookie, Sookie Sue!" in the oldies song.

Toots is from the Tookie Tookie Bird in one of the Disney films... Lion King maybe... she called it the Toots Toots Bird when she was really little. So... Sookie Toots.

She is the "tooth impaired wonder" because her top front teeth have been missing for over a year and show no sign of adult teeth. They are going to x-ray and look for them again. Second time now. Hopefully they will show up. Can you imagine not having top front teeth as a kid... and forever?

  17. Not a problem. Sorry to mess you up. My hours can be erratic, but I'm usually up with the chickens. Back in the college days, it used to be because I was pulling all-nighters, but as I've gotten older, I find myself sleeping less and just getting up early.

  18. Hi there.. I thought that since you popped by my blog I would return the courtesy.. I love the names for the girls.. very cute..We all ahve had to endure some things in our lives that we can't go back to.. It sounds as if you have made huge strides to improve yourself and your health.. Sometimes we need a little push to get going...

  19. Cube-- Oh me too! I love to see the sun rise. There is something uplifting about it and it gets my day off on the right foot. Yesterday's photos were of the sunrise. I sleep much less but also want a nap in the afternoon when I can get one... even those only last about 20 minutes.

  20. Mrs.Hairy Woman-- Oh I am so pleased that you did drop in! I have seen your name on other blogs and it made me curious. I had to check you out.

Yes, there have been hard times, but there have been some wonderful and amazing times too. I am thankful always. And even the bad parts are vital parts of what make us what we are.

A push was required. But now I'm rolling.

  21. Howdy hay! I just realized I hadn't commented yet. Your girls are beautiful. So are you, everyone knows that!

I knew you would like the video. As soon as my yahoo told me you were here, I was glad I'd put it on funch today.

Oh my gosh Shife... I have totally fallen in love with your baby! He is the best. Be sure to tell his mom too, and let her know she's obviously done a bang up job as well. I bet she really misses him while at work. Big smile.

  27. Braja-- Absolutely! It's the only kind of beer I'm drinking these days. :) And as far as I'm concerned I can always use a silly song.

  28. Citizen-- Hello! I thank you. Yes, I try to do two things every day now... go outside and take a good look at the beauty in the gorge that surrounds me and look at what I have that gives me joy. I am very thankful. It helps me to keep perspective.
