MONDAY MADNESS

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdfETQPgRCE

Invader Zim is my favorite cartoon. We even sing the DOOMY DOOM SONG at home. Girr is my screen saver. Pinky and the Brain is a close second. What's yours?

Well crap! I have an Invader Zim video there... but I put it in on my work computer and I think our system is blocking it. Sorry about that folks. Zim is my favortie cartoon. You will have to use your imaginations and see an Invader Zim and Girr up there. I use Girr as my screen saver. Pinky and the Brain is my second favorite cartoon... what is your favorite cartoon?

Okay... so the date went badly. In fact, we both managed to screw it up and miss it. He showed up an noon and I showed up at 1:00. He forgot he changed the time. So it goes. I did not really want to go. I have been to this restaurant so many times it is pathetic. My oldest son cooks there... and was cooking. Most of the people who work there are students of mine... or worse, people I used to work with there a bazillion years back. I might as well take the town on a date. Sheesh. So it did not break my heart. I was relieved. He asked me out next weekend... but I can't I 've already got other plans. So there you have it... my way out. (If you don't know what I am talking about, I was trying to find a way to not go out that would not hurt his feelings too much. Fate was nice to me.)

R2 came back out of the woods without Bambi. I guess my karma is going to be okay for awhile now that deer season is over for him. I got to yak and make plans with him all evening. OH so very, very cool beans. I am going to have so much fun this coming weekend. I love the ocean. I can't think of anywhere else I would rather be. We are going to BBQ steelhead on the beach and do the tide pool thing, look for shells and play tourist at the attractions. If I close my eyes I can already smell the salty air. Aaaaahhhhh… sigh

Well the children are arriving and my free time this morning is gone. I got up at 4... walked from 4:30-5:30. It's working. I am feeling great despite it being a Monday. Meeting night as ususal. Grump... that takes time out of my life that I resent. But maybe if I do it I will be depositing good darma for the next life eh? Is that how that works? Anyone out there actually understand Karma? Hey... still doing the breathing exercise that a friend sent me and listening to the wonderful chant that Braja sent me as I do it. Gosh it feels great!

Happy Monday folks!

  4. Bugs Bunny in the old days. More recently, I've enjoyed watching the PowerPuff Girls and Spongebob with my girls. I know there are others, but I can't think of them right now.

Sorry to hear about your date, but if your heart wasn't in it, perhaps it was for the best that it didn't occur. A very public date with a not-so-special frog doesn't sound like much fun.

  5. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and if the timing is bad, it wasn't meant to be. If the time and place are working well for you, maybe the deer hunter is your guy. I'm here in Iowa, wishing good things and happy fun dates for you.

  6. Ah, the ocean... at least on the west coast... is amazing. Sounds great. And good for you getting up to walk. As for the date that wasn't, well, there you go!

  7. billy pilgrim-- Hahaha... she's a hot bot! That one is pretty darned irreverent. I like that in a cartoon.

  8. Cube-- Sadly I know all the words to the Sponge Bob song. ;-)

Hey, I was glad it fizzled... I got in an extra walk and took Squeaky for a driving lesson that we laughed all the way through. I think it was the right thing to have happen.

I hate dating in my town. There is no privacy and my minions are notoriously prone to coming up to introduce themselves... and give a warning eye. I was lucky Larry didn't run away the day he came to meet me. Sheesh.

  9. Churlita-- I agree 100% ! That was not my guy... and I'm sure hoping the deer hunter is.
Thanks for the good wishes. I can use them.

  10. Pamela-- The coast here is wonderful. I love every inch of it. And I don't care if it storms all weekend. I think the storms are as exciting as the sun shine at the beach... and it washes up more shells. Besides, I won't mind getting wet. I don't rust.

  11. I want to see Invader Zim! never seen it, it is on my to watch list. Favorite cartoons... I've always loved Bugs Bunny.

To get out of dates you could go old school WWI style or Vietnam style and shoot yourself in the foot supposedly by accident. You get to go home with that kind of injury. Kind of extreme but it's fool proof so long as you don't bleed to death.

Oh, another super awesome cartoon I love is this JApanese one called Shin Chan. REally really funny.

  12. Sebastien-- I'll take that shoot myself in the foot under consideration. Thanks! The old...oops the hatchet slipped while I was chopping kindling works pretty good too... but it's hard on knee caps. My ex used that one once, though he swears it was not on purpose.

What about Foamy the Squirrel? We love Foamy... he is so out there and well... crazy. You can find him at illwill.com

  14. Music, cartoons, movies, work, taking care of a home, how in the hell do you find time for all that?

Don't you ever go camping or spend quite hours on the river bank?

  15. That date was so not meant to be. Next weekend sounds wonderful, Ananda. You totally deserve to be whisked away for a romantic adventure at the ocean's edge.

  16. BBC-- That's what this coming weekend is all about... getting away.

I don't have enough time. But I dont do all those things all the time... except of course for music. There is always music around me. But I can listen to music and clean or whatever.

  18. So do I. I also know the words to the Spongebob Sweater song.

I also remembered other cartoons from my childhood besides Bugs... Johnny Quest (the robot spider was the coolest thing)and Rocky & Bullwinkle. Not as favorite, but still deserving a special mention... The Herculoids, Space Ghost, Felix the Cat, Little Lulu. And more recently... Dexter's Lab.
