PHOOLISH PHOTOS ON THOR'S DAY and ORTS OF NONSENSE

Thursday is named for Thor.
I like that fact.

Welcome to my lame photo gallery. Only the lamest make it in here!

(Many of the comments are fairly lame as well.)

This is Squeaky's helmet lined with bubble

wrap to protect his head.
Yes, bubble wrap.

He has bubble wrap pants too.

Is it me or has armor really changed?

Doesn't it look like the snorkel lift and the truck are waiting anxiously in line for the port-a-potty?

Ah... King of the Hill.

I don't know. Kind of looks like a very small alcoholic left these laying on my lawn.

(There is too grass under that!)

This is how WalMart fixes a giant pot hole in their drive.

I swear... it's been like this for months.

This happy face rock is next to the exit out of WalMart.

See the things on its head?

They're little smiley rocks like this one.

Yeah... this one now lives on my dashboard to hold down dollar bills for bridge toll.

What? I gave it a purpose in life beyond laying around on the ground outside WalMart. Someone left them there to make people happy. Well, taking it made me happy. Besides, who do rocks belong to if not the universe... of which I am a part. That is my rock. It has always been my rock. It will always be my rock.

The Bear and I were driving the other day and I was crabbing about how does anyone ever meet anyone anymore...

There at the side of the road was a homeless man, sitting with his backpack and all his worldly goods on the edge of the tarmac.

I turned to the Bear and said: "Look... you can pick men up curb side now!"

Bear gave me one of her meanest looks and said "Don't you dare!"

Geez...

We watched "Knowing" last night. It stars Nicholas Cage. Not what I expected. It was pretty good. Has anyone else seen it?

A couple of musical orts...

Nellie the elephant with lyrics etc.

(I've thought seriously of teaching the first and kindergarten classes this song.)

That's it for Phoolish Photos on Thor's Day and Orts Of Nonsense. (Feel free to say whatever you want about any subject today... even how lame this post was. )

Tomorrow: Friday Fables a.k.a. The Adventures of Miss Bliss.

  2. lime-- I have the most ridiculous image of you wrapped in bubble wrap in my head! It's red bubble wrap BTW.

We have only the best road workers in our neck of the woods!

    500 Miles... I love it too. :)

  3. My daughter made a purse out of bubble wrap when she was in grade school. It didn't hold up very well, but it was cute while it lasted.

  4. Bubble wrap isn't safe around me. I love to pop it. Warn your son.

Anyway, your post reminds me of The Virtual Bubble Wrap Site

P.S. I forgive you for taking that rock. Have you named it yet? We name everything at our house.

  5. Churlita-- I bet that was cute. Little girls are so funny with their fashion adventures.

Bear had to take a clear plastic purse full of Care Bears everywhere with her for years. God help us if one fell out!

  6. Cube-- Me too on the bubble wrap. When I go near Squeaky's stuff he says "Moooommmmm!

    Love the link! Thanks.

Thank you too for your forgiveness. Sometimes I cannot resist the voices in my head and fall down.
    ;)

But I know... "We all fall down!"

  7. cube-- I forgot to tell you... I named it Mary Jane. Why? I had a friend with the name of Mary Jane Stoner. Such a wonderfully laughable name! It is after all, a stone. ;)

  8. About Thor and Thursday.... reminds me of the movement by intolerant people to censor Christian references from year references by trying to get rid of BC and AD.

Yet, look at how days and months are named. I don't know anyone who has a problem with Friday, Thursday, June, etc over what they are named after.

As for the faces in the rocks, check out the old movie "Return to Oz". And then... be afraid. Very afraid.

  9. I don't think this post or the photos qualify as lame. Sorry, Ananda :-)
My name for Thursday is Thrust Day...which follows, you know, Hump Day.
And oh....I think you might have a leprechaun infestation. Just a thought.

  10. Pamela-- There are lots more scattered around... want me to nab you one? Someone really spent some time making them and scattering them everywhere.

  11. dmarks-- I agree... I do not see what the big deal is about BC and AD.

Both are just titles to an "epoc" and Jesus is only a marker for starting and ending points. Silly nit picking!

I've seen "Return to Oz". I love Tik-Tok, Jack Pumpkinhead and Gump. Those squeaky creepy skater guys... shudder. But that Gnome King... yikes! You're right.

  12. laura b.-- Thanks for the compliment. I have so many photos that I've no clue what to do with them.

I like the idea of Thurst Day... and my Hump Days have been the same in a while. giggle ;)

You know I bet you're right about the Leprechauns!
I'm guessing now that you mention it that they're responsible for my keys moving around the house too. I'll have to build a trap.

  13. I saw Tik-Tok's head once. In person.

    ReplyDelete
  14. dmarks-- How do you get to do all this great stuff? I'd love to see Tik-Tok's head... even his shiny round butt!

We were excited when the Smithsonian brought us a Merry-Go-Round on tour. Geez... you are so lucky.

  15. Great pictures, and you're right, that is your rock, my rock, our rock, Wal-Mart security's rock. Better watch out for them.

  16. aliencg-- Oops! You're right... I better watch out for those guys.

    Thanks.

  19. Seems that Squeaky is a big fan of imperial Japan. Cool.

  20. Sebastien-- Yes! Squeaky is teaching himself Japanese and doing very well with it. He's into the anime pretty deep and he's a gamer.
